What local collections can be exposed in Primo? Such as: institutional repository, digital collections, etc.
Answer
From Ex Libris's "Loading Records from External Sources into Primo VE:" Primo VE allows you to import records from external sources for discovery in your local catalog. Currently, Primo VE supports generic XML, Dublin Core, and MARC21 records from external sources. The Delete External Data Sources job allows you to remove records that have been loaded into Primo VE.
The Ex Libris documentation includes the following:
- Process Overview
- Configuring Import Profiles for Primo VE
- Configuring Normalization Rules for Primo VE
- Creating Normalization Processes for External Data Sources
- Testing Normalization Rules for External Data Sources
- Using the Mapping Table to Map Resource Types
You can also set up remote repositories to harvest these kinds of records. See How do I set up a digital import of content from Digital Commons, DSpace, and other external repositories?
