How do I browse the shelf list in Alma?

Answer

In the MD Editor:

  1. Go to Resources>Cataloging>Browse Shelf List
  2. Click Search & Browse>Browse Shelf List
  3. Enter the following search criteria:
    • Call Number Level:
      • All: provides blended results of all the call number options in the drop-down list
      • Holdings call number: provides holdings-level record links in the results list
      • Alternative call number: provides item-level record links in the results list
      • Temporary call number: provides item-level record links in the results list
    • Call Number Type
      • Determines how the call number information is sorted and appears (is normalized) in the shelf list
    • Library: Optional
    • Location: Select a location from within the library
    • Call Number: Enter a partial or complete call number for the Call Number parameter
  4. Click Go
  5. Results will display below the search parameters
  6. Click the <> to navigate forward and back in the results list (under Go)
