How do I edit a holdings record in Alma?
Answer
Make sure you have the correct user roles in order to use the metadata editor. You need to have one of the following roles:
- Cataloger
- Catalog Manager
- Catalog Administrator
The following changes can be made to a set of Holdings records:
- Update call number from Bibliographic record
- Correct the data using normalization rules
- Tag records for publishing
To edit a single holdings record in the MD Editor:
- Open the holdings record in the MD Editor
- Edit appropriate field(s)
- Click Save>Save and Release Record (Ctrl+Alt+R)
To edit a set of holdings records using a job:
- Create a set of bib records
- Go to Admin>Manage Jobs and Set>Run a Job
- Search for the "Change Holdings Information" job by name
- Click on the radio button next to "Change Holdings Information" and click Next
- Click on the radio button next to the set the job will be applied to and click Next
- Select the parameters for the job and click Next
- Review the job
- Click Submit
- Click Confirm when the "Confirmation message" pops-up
