What are best practices for testing Primo VE search results?
Answer
To check your search results, go to your Primo instance and do a search.
Search Result example:
Once you get the results, take a look and assess the following:
- Do your resource types display accurately (Book, Article, etc.)?
- Do you like the way that the brief record displays? Would you prefer that it included less (or more) information (title, author, date of publication, etc.)?
- Are your availability statements working as you expect them to work (available online, available in a particular collection at your library)?
- If you have an item that's available in multiple formats (print and online, print and audio, etc.), do you like the way that that's displaying? (See FRBR Display options below)
- Are you happy with the top right icons (Up-Front Actions) for each entry and the order in which they appear (permalink, email, tag, etc.)?
- Do you want to give users the ability to personalize their results?
- Do you see a difference in search results when you're signed into Primo vs. when you're not signed in? If so, is this ok?
