How can I create an ISBN search in Advanced Search and how can I make the ISBN display in the full record?

Answer

To add to search:

  • Go to Discovery>Configure Views and choose the view you'd like to edit
  • Go to the Advanced Search Configuration tab
  • Under the List of Indexes, choose Customize and Add Index:
    add search index
  • Click the dropdown in the Index options and scroll down to find ISBN:
    add ISBN index to list of advanced search options
  • Click on Add Index and make sure that it's toggled on in the Active column


To add to display in full record:

  • Go to Discovery>Configure Views and select the view that you'd like to edit
  • Click on the Full Record Services Tab
  • Next to the line for Details, click the three dots and choose Configure
  • Click on Customize to add the field:
    customize record details to add field
  • Choose Add Field and scroll down to find and select Identifier:
    add ISSN/ISBN to full record
  • Click Save to save the field. Note that this will include ISSN, etc.
