How are Matching Records handled in the MD Editor?

Answer

The Network Zone (NZ) is configured to match bib records on the OCLC# (MARC 035 $$a). SUNY IZ configurations should match the NZ configurations.

Steps to ensure that records are being matched properly in the MD Editor and what to do when when a match is found:

  1. Check the following settings under Configuration>Resources>General>Other Settings to make sure that the OCLC# is set as the match point:
    • non_serial_match_profile = com.exlibris.repository.mms.match.uniqueOCLC
    • serial_match_profile = com.exlibris.repository.mms.match.OCLCSerialMatchProfile
    • Ignore_cz_records: true.
  2. How to handle Matching Records in the MD Editor:
    • Check to see if there are duplicate OCLC#s:
      • View in the MD Editor or
      • Perform a repository search for Other System Number
    • If there are duplicate OCLC #s in the NZ contact SLS Support to ask to have the duplicates removed
