How do I link an Institutional Zone (IZ) record with the NZ using "Share with Network"?
Answer
Thing to keep in mind prior to linking IZ records to the NZ:
- Review the IZ only bib record:
- Make sure it has an OCLC # in 035 $$a using the following pattern: (OCoLC)##########
- Delete any local record (non-OCLC) numbers in 035 $$a
- Create local fields you want to retain (Editing Actions>Add Local Extension)
View the Share with Network LibGuide for more information.
“Share with Network” Workflow in the MD Editor:

- Click View to make sure it is the correct NZ record
- Click Back to Results after verifying it is the correct bib record
- Click Link
- Click Save>Save and Release Record (Ctrl+Alt+R). This will Save and Release the NZ bibliographic record on the right-side of the split screen editor that the IZ record has been linked to.
