How do I unlink a bib record from the NZ?

Answer

The "Copy to Catalog" function in the MD Editor will unlink a bib record from the NZ and make it an IZ record only. The IZ only record can be retained or deleted after unlinking it from the NZ.

To unlink a bib record from the NZ:

  1. Open the bib record in the MD Editor
  2. Click Record Actions > Copy To Catalog. 
    • Copy to Catalog changes the MMS ID from an NZ MMS ID (ending in 4801)
      Bib ends in 4801 and has NZ icon
      ​​​​​​​
    • To the institution's IZ MMS ID
      Bib ends with IZ MMSID and has IZ icon
  3. Click Save > Save and Release Record (Ctrl+Alt+R) or Record Actions > Delete Record (Ctrl+D)
