How do I set up Auto-holdings for Sciencedirect or other databases like Ovid or Springer?

Answer

Ex Libris works with several vendors to provide the option to automatically load holdings for newly purchased titles in Alma. As of June 2024, recently added vendors include JSTOR and Project Muse.

The mostly commonly used integration profile for e-resources in SUNY is the Proquest eBook Central integration, which runs daily to bring in new titles. It can be used in conjunction with acquisitions integrations like Rialto and Gobi.

Note that these jobs do not work perfectly, and you will need to monitor the job report to find titles that might have failed to import because of metadata mismatches or duplicate records in the CZ.

Also note that if you're interested in using the Sciencedirect auto-holdings integration, please reach out to SUNY Library Services to let us know so that we can change your NZ access to the core holdings collection.
