How do I create a Fulfillment Unit?
Answer
Fulfillment Units can be used to group locations with like circulation policies so those policies can all be configured at once. To create a Fulfillment Unit, you will need either the Fulfillment Administrator or General Administrator role.
Note: Fulfillment Units should be configured at the Institution level, not the Library level.
1. Navigate to Configuration | Fulfillment | Physical Fulfillment | Fulfillment.
2. Click the Add Fulfillment Unit link. An Add Fulfillment Unit window will appear.
3. Enter a Code and Name for the Fulfillment Unit into the Code and Name fields, select an On Shelf Request Policy, and then click the Add Fulfillment Unit button.
Note: The On Shelf Request Policy determines whether your users can submit local hold requests for items the in Locations included in the Fulfillment Unit. If you allow for On Shelf requesting at the Fulfillment Unit, you can use Fulfillment Unit rules to block local hold requests for specific portions of the Fulfillment Unit. The On Shelf Request Policy does not determine whether an item is requestable for physical or digital resource sharing (that is determined by the Fulfillment Unit's Request Terms of Use).
