How to I move an item in a temporary location back to its permanent location?
Answer
Items can be moved to temporary locations for a variety of reasons (course reserves, placing items in a new books location, placing items on display, etc.). Once items no longer need to be in a temporary location, you can manually restore them to their permanent location using the following workflow. You can automatically create restore requests for items in temporary locations that have passed their due back date by turning on the Requests - Restore Temporarily Shelved Items job. For more information on that job, please see Ex Libris' Scheduled Jobs documentation. Once that job runs, restore requests will be created for items that need to be moved back to their permanent location, and those items will appear on your Pick From Shelf list. Scanning those items in move them back to their permanent location.
1. Go to Fulfillment > Resource Requests > Scan In Items
2. Click the Change Item Information tab, select Restore from the Change Type dropdown, scan the item barcode into the Scan Item Barcode field, and then click the OK button. The item will be moved back to its permanent location.
